Escape From Rogue Planet is a 3D action game with mechanics that focus on combat and exploration. It utilizes a targeting system and multiple weapons to help the player fight their way out of the facility.
Escape From Rogue Planet was originally created by three CAGD students as a senior project. I was hired afterwards to further debug and develop the title. The title went on to take first place in the Game category of the Excellence in Computer Graphics Awards competition at California State University Chico.
Gameplay: Implemented combat targeting system, adjusted combat mechanics to be more fluid, fixed camera clipping bug, adjusted combat collisions, and transferred player attributes through different levels.
Inazuma is a fast paced third person action game in which the player assaults a star fleet with nothing but a katana. It seeks to combine fluid combat and controls with precision targeting to allow players to glide easily from enemy to enemy.
Inazuma was created as a senior project by a four man team of CAGD students. This project pushed the boundaries of our technical and design abilities as it was the first project to delve into 3D space.
Gameplay: Programmed the third person camera, targeting system, combat mechanics, player motion, and level transitions,
Team Leader: Organized team meetings, delegated work, established communication methods, compiled work into the project.
Andromeda is a 3D side scrolling action platformer. The player progresses through the game by unlocking a new ability for each level.
Andromeda was developed by Chico State Game Studios which is comprised entirely of CAGD students. This project separated students into teams according skills to simulate a game studio environment.
GUI/UI: Developed a menu selection system using indices and stack-like algorithm. Created a GUI system that showed when abilities were collected or available for use.
Design: Designed and implemented a level select screen using multiple rotating objects.
Amoeba Colors is a mobile maze-like game for Android systems. In Amoeba Colors the player navigates an amoeba through a series of different levels containing mazes and puzzles. The player must use different colored power ups to solve the puzzles and navigate the mazes.
Game Play: Developed the primary movement and collisions of the player, obstacles, and power ups.
Level Navigation: Developed a level navigation system to select levels.
GOLM is a two player build and battle game. Each player creates a golem with a four lettered name. The players then fight their golems in a Rock'em Sock'em Robot-like fashion. The name of the golem will determine its speed, health, damage, and element. GOLM was created as a game jam project by a four man team for the 2016 Global Game Jam.
Game Play: Developed movement and combat mechanics.
Name-to-Golem Creation: Developed and implemented the algorithm which creates the golem according to the given name.
